Yusuf has a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting; a postgraduate diploma in accounting and a postgraduate Advanced Taxation certification. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession, having served articles at MSGM Masuku Jeena. He worked as an employees’ tax consultant at Ernst & Young and headed up the Remuneration department at the MTN Group. He lectured on the MBA programme at Mancosa.
Yusuf served on the Continuing Professional Development Committee at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) for six years. He was a board member of the South African Board for People Practice (SABPP). Yusuf was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
Yusuf is passionate about developing the next generation of entrepreneurs. He is the Founder of Chart Your Path, having developed more than 6500 entrepreneurs to date and went through R 1.3 billion in business plans. He is an international speaker, business and habit coach, business advisor, mentor and SMME trainer.
In 2011 Yusuf received the HR Strategic Leadership Award at the World HRD Congress. In 2024 he was a finalist in the Startup Mentor category of the African Startup Ecosystem Builders Awards. He serves on the judging panel of the African Business Heroes competition and the Business Partners Entrepreneur of the Year competition. He is currently serving on the board of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA)
